I recently came across an old quote (a Chinese Proverb) that made me think of my current situation.
Imagine if a tree was never planted. Now imagine how large a tree would be and how much nicer the landscape would be if that never planted tree, was planted 20 years ago!!! The same holds true for me today. I think of where my life would be and what I could have accomplished if I would have just planted a seed and taken the first steps to start an online business.
STARTING IS NOT ENOUGH!!
Starting is not enough. Like a tree, a business needs to be watered, fertilized and nourished so it can grow. A tree does not grow large overnight, and neither can a business of any kind. You cannot make tons of money overnight. You must build it gradually, step by step. This can be frustrating but also very rewarding. In an Ideal world, I would have started an online business years ago. But there was always an excuse or reason why I never got one off the ground. It always seemed to come down to “I will do this when I get some of my debt paid off or have some extra money.” Or it just wasn’t the right time.
THE TIME TO START IS NOW!!!!!
Just like we cannot plant a tree 20 years in the past. We cannot start a business in the past. So, if I follow the wisdom of the Chinese Proverb, I must start a business today. Will it be easy and without work? Absolutely not!!! But, with the right system in place and someone willing to take a chance, this journey could provide my “tree” and make it grow!!!!
